MISSION
Our outreach ministries are called to open the truth of salvation to anyone who=s willing to listen by:
- preparing the congregation for service in spreading the gospel locally and abroad
- developing in our members a genuine interest and desire to minister to the needs of our neighbourhood community
- encouraging those in service
SCRIPTURE TEXT: MATTHEW 28:18-20
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
CAMP SHOUT
For the past six years we have offered Camp SHOUT, a drop-in style day camp, geared primarily to the low-income housing in our neighbourhood. For the first three years the camp ran all summer, free of charge. Due to some challenges, the camp has been cut back to three weeks now and a small fee of $10 per week is charged. The changes have been beneficial and we hope to slowly add one week each year until we reach our original goal of a full summer program once again.
NEIGHBOURHOOD YOUTH MINISTRY
Out of a desire to build relationships with our neighbours in the co-op, we began a parking-lot ministry with three neighbourhood youth joining two of our members for a game of ball hockey. This slowly grew into an informal ball hockey ministry and basketball in the co-op next door, but was largely dependent on the two or three members who came out faithfully for this. There has not been any official neighbourhood youth ministry for the past two years.
Alpha
Alpha is a small group-based, practical introduction to the Christian faith. It is intended for both new and maturing believers. Alpha meets together for a meal and video, breaking into small groups to close off the evening. Alpha is offered on an occasional basis.
